ON THE COMPETITION BETWEEN FERROMAGNETIC AND ANTIFERROMAGNETIC STATES IN Sr2MnMoO6
Recently, the ordered double perovskites Sr2MM O6 (M being the magnetic 3d element, and M ′ being the 4d or 5d element) have attracted a great deal of attention. The interest to these systems was spurred on by large intergrain-tunneling magnetoresistance observed at room temperature in Sr2FeMoO6 and Sr2FeReO6 [1], which opens wide perspectives for technological applications. On the contrary, Sr...

متن کاملESR studies of (CH3)2CHNH3CuCl3: Ferromagnetic- dominant alternating Heisenberg chains with ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions
Ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic (F-AF) alternating Heisenberg chains with S = 1/2 can be regarded as Haldane systems when the ferromagnetic exchange interaction is much stronger than the antiferromagnetic one. That is, an energy gap between the singlet ground state and the triplet excited state is expected at T = 0K. In such a system, spins behave as 1/2 at high T where no short-range order...
متن کاملStrong antiferromagnetic exchange between manganese phthalocyanine and ferromagnetic europium oxide.
We report on the antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between a submonolayer of Mn(II)-phthalocyanine molecules and a ferromagnetic Eu(II)-oxide thin film. The exchange energy is larger by nearly two orders of magnitude compared to previous studies involving oxidic substrates.
متن کاملCompetition of Ferromagnetic and Antiferromagnetic Order in the Spin-1/2 Xxz Chain at Finite Temperature
An analytical study is presented of the crossover in the gapless attractive XXZ chain from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic behaviour at low to high temperature, respectively. In particular, an analytic formula for the crossover in the long distance asymptotics and explicit results for the nearest-neighbour longitudinal correlation are obtained. We also provide results for the specific heat a...
